CG United Brings New Focus to Community Giving

CG United, a leading provider of property & casualty insurance in the region, has moved to build on its history of community support with a new framework to support and strengthen community life while creating meaningful impact.

CG United, a member of the Coralisle Group Ltd., has now launched a new ‘CG Community’ arm that provides a framework for the organisation’s philanthropic activities while also providing staff opportunities to volunteer in the community.

Through ‘CG Community,’ CG United has identified four main pillars of focus, which include: Community Welfare and Economic Development, Health, Education and Environment & Sustainability. It is from these four areas that CG United’s giving decisions will emerge.

‘Our aim in articulating “CG Community” objectives is to provide the clearest understanding of what CG aims to support to help achieve strong, healthy community life,’ Naz Farrow, CG’s Chief Executive Officer, said.

Philanthropy is an integral part of CG’s people-first approach to business.

Across the Caribbean, the company has extended support to various children’s homes, schools, and other organisations, including The Barbados Kidney Association, the Salvation Army, the Jamaica National Blood Transfusion Unit, the National Development Foundation of Dominica, UWI Scholarships, CPEA Educational Grants and more.

‘The impetus for this work stems from our view that CG is part of the communities we serve and that we should do what we can to support activities that help people -live healthy, fulfilled lives,’ Ms. Farrow said. ‘We believe our continued work through ‘CG Community’ will positively impact in our communities through focused and intentional support.’
